DUDEK READY FOR DOBRUCKI REUNION

Former world No.2 Patryk Dudek can’t wait to join forces with new Polish boss Rafal Dobrucki for the national side.

Former world No.2 Patryk Dudek can’t wait to join forces with new Polish boss Rafal Dobrucki for the national side.

Dobrucki spent the final four years of his career with Zielona Gora between 2008 and 2011 - a time when a young Dudek made his PGE Ekstraliga debut.

After retiring from the sport due to injury in 2011, Dobrucki enjoyed a stint as Falubaz team manager and has also coached Poland’s Under-21 side.

Dudek would love the chance to return to Poland’s Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations duo later this year as the eight-time FIM Speedway World Cup winners bid to win the sport’s new world team title for the first time.

After starring under former coach Marek Cieslak, Dudek can’t wait to work with another national boss he knows well.

He told Falubaz.com: “I am very happy to be in the national team and I’m happy that I will have the opportunity to represent Poland. Of course, everything will depend on my results in the league and individual tournaments.

“I will not have to get to know the new manager anew. I know Rafal Dobrucki and we have always had a good relationship.

“He was a coach at Zielona Gora, but also a friend. We met at training camps, so I know more or less what to expect.

“I am glad that Marek Cieslak is followed by another person who has experience in speedway. I hope we can create something cool together. I also believe that together we will give our fans a lot of joy.”
